Lawley Art Auction raises $30,000 for students
The Parent Committee who ran the 2017Â Lawley Art Auction, would like to thank the WA artists, generous sponsors and guests who enjoyed the event, for their amazing support.
The Lawley Art Auction on Saturday the 10th of June raised almost $30,000, to be divided equally between the music and performing arts programs at Mt Lawley Senior High School.
The funding, which was 10% more than the amount raised last year, will be used to support the school’s drama workshops and theatre and music equipment.
Students of all ages will benefit; whether their talents lie on the stage, in the art room, behind the camera, or in the school band and symphony orchestra.
Special thanks go to Auctioneer Matt Donelly, who was in fine form encouraging bids while a diverse range of artworks by 88 artists were displayed by students.
In a first for the 14-year-old event, a number of artworks were also available in the Irving gallery, for set prices.
If you missed out on taking home a fabulous artwork this year, we look forward to welcoming you to our 2018 event next winter.
